Coverages
Coverages are the health insurance, prepaid health plans and other forms of payment you work with. They exist only for the Medical account type. Administrator or Assistant adds them, and they are then chosen in each schedule, in each appointment and in each client's record.
Add a coverage
Go to Administration › Coverages and add a new one:
- Coverage type: Health insurance, Prepaid health plans, Private, Occupational risk insurer (ART) or Other.
- Name: the name shown when you give an appointment and the one your clients choose when they book online.
In Advanced settings:
- Accepts online appointments: if you don't check it, your clients don't see this coverage when they book online. You can still choose it yourself from the schedule.
- Scopes: if your account uses scopes, the scopes where this coverage is offered. This field appears only when you have at least one scope.
Which coverages each schedule accepts
Each schedule states which coverages it accepts. You set this when you create the schedule.
When you book an appointment, only the coverages that schedule accepts appear. If the appointment has a coverage the schedule doesn't accept, when you save you see "The selected coverage isn't accepted in this schedule." and you have to choose another one. When booking online, your clients only see the coverages that the schedule accepts and that have Accepts online appointments checked.
Each client's coverage
In the client's record, the Coverage tab keeps their Coverage and their Member number. Anyone who can open the record can fill in this tab.
When you give the client an appointment, the coverage in their record is suggested. If you choose a different coverage of type Health insurance or Prepaid health plans in the appointment, the record is updated with the new coverage and its member number. An appointment with Private, Occupational risk insurer (ART) or Other doesn't change the record, because it applies only to that visit.
