Services
A service is what your clients book: a consultation, a class, a formality. Each schedule offers one or more services, so it is best to add them before you create it. Depending on the type of account, you will see services on screen as Processes or Specialties; in this documentation we always call them services.
Services are added by Administrator and Assistant.
Add a service
Go to Administration › Services and add a new one:
- Name: the one your clients see when they book online.
- Appointment length: optional. If you fill it in, this service's appointments last that long; if you leave it empty, the length of the schedule's time slot is used.
Procedures
In the Medical industry, besides services there are procedures: what is done during the appointment within a service. You add them in Administration › Procedures, with their Name and a Description. In Advanced settings you can set:
- Status: only active procedures can be chosen in a new appointment.
- Branch and Service: what the procedure belongs to. If you don't assign it a service, it can be chosen with any of them.
- Appointment length: optional. If you fill it in, it takes priority over the service's and the schedule's.
In the Instructions tab you write what the client needs to know before coming, for example how to prepare. They appear on the appointment receipt.
Your clients choose the procedure when they book online. If a schedule has Requires procedure checked, you can't book an appointment in it without choosing one.
Scopes
If you work in very different areas, scopes let you separate them in online booking. When your account has at least one scope, the first thing a client sees when booking is the list of scopes, and after choosing one they are only offered the services, coverages and professionals of that scope.
Administrator creates them in Administration › Scopes, with just a Name. Then each service shows the Scopes field to choose which ones it belongs to, and so do the permissions of each professional, in your team.
